Around Best Western Hotel Turist

Sun 290117 - The rest of our tour of the Balkans, starting with Skopje, is covered by a local guide and  a local driver arranged by Fez Travel.

Our guide, standing beside me in the photo, is Denis, while the driver is Seko aka Boss.

Skopje is the capital of the Republic of Macedonia and this is its flag.  We are expecting the weather to be Sunny with temperature ranging from 28℉-43℉ (-2-6℃).

We are staying at the Best Western Hotel Turist.

Some places of interest are just right outside the hotel.  Like the Memorial House of Mother Teresa.

You can see many interesting sculptures like this along the streets.

The Novković Family Farm

Sun 290117 - After our visit to the Rastoke Village, Mladen drove us to The Novković family farm which is about 10 minutes away. This is where we can sample schnapps, local cheese and organic apple juice.

Sample of local cheese made of cow and sheep milk produced on the farm.

This is the Croatian ‘Strukli’ soup.  The Strukli is dough filled with fresh cottage cheese and boiled in the soup.

Photo of farm owner, Lok Bahadur Chhetri, with our family.  You can read how he and his wife, Regimith, a Lepcha tribal lady started the farm at this link:

It was so dark when we left the farm for the airport but Mladen got us there on time.

Here we are at the airport, waiting for our flight from Zagreb to Skopje.  Flight leaving at 2245hrs and will take one and half hours.

We are looking forward to our stay in Skopje, the capital of the Republic of Macedonia.
